KOBUN SHIZUNO - Guest of Honor

Co-Director of Evangelion: 1.0 You (Are) Not Alone Born in 1972 in Tokyo, Japan, Kobun Shizuno studied at the Yoyogi Animation School and made his debut in the anime world as the Assistant Director of Giant Robo: The Animation. He has since served as Director or Co-Director of many of America's biggest anime series including Burst Angel and Elfen Lied as well as fan favorites such as Case Closed, Peacemaker, Princess Nine, and Final Fantasy: Unlimited. Fans of Saturday morning cartoons will recognize Mr. Shizuno as the Director of GI Joe: Sigma 6. His largest projects, though, are his current ones, as Mr. Shizuno is directing an upcoming Fist of the North Star motion picture and serving as Co-Director for the new Neon Genesis Evangelion feature films, the first of which - Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone - premiered in September in theatres in Japan. Mr. Shizuno's appearance at the New York Anime Festival is presented by TenBu Productions.

PETER FERNANDEZ - Guest of Honor

The Immortal Voice of Speed Racer Peter Fernandez spent his early years modeling and acting in New York City. Following the outbreak of World War II, he put his career on hold, joined the Army, and advanced to the rank of Technical Sergeant. After the war, Peter returned to New York and worked as a prolific writer, actor, and director for television and radio. While he is most known for voicing Speed in Speed Racer, Peter has lent his voice and talents to hundreds of films and television series including A Fistful of Dollars , Astro Boy , Castle in the Sky , Cinema Paradiso, Day of the Dead, Gigantor, Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster, Mothra, Star Blazers, Superbook, Taro: The Dragon Boy, That Man From Rio, The Space Giants, Ultraman, and What's Eating Gilbert Grape . He recently worked on Cartoon Network's Courage the Cowardly Dog and The Discovery Channel's Kenny the Shark and continues to act and direct today.

CORINNE ORR - Guest of Honor

The Iconic Voice of Trixie Corinne Orr - best known for her part as Trixie in Speed Racer - was born in Montreal, Canada. She became involved in the theatre at the age of 10, and by 14, Corinne was working with the Montreal Repertory Theatre and Montreal 's Mountain Playhouse alongside William Shatner and Christopher Plummer. With her stage background, Corinne quickly landed work in radio, animation, and TV in Canada and then New York City . Corinne has given her voice to characters in over 1,000 commercials including Snuggle Fabric Softener's the Snuggle the Bear and worked in more than 200 animated movies and series including Grave of the Fireflies, Star Blazers, Ultraman, Marine Boy, and Disney's PB&J Otter .

AIMEE MAJOR STEINBERGER - Guest of Honor

Author, Artist, and Illustrator Aimee Major Steinberger is a professional animator and layout artist whose work can be seen on The Simpsons and Futurama as well as in Disney's Three Caballeros ride at Epcot's Gran Fiesta Tour and the Warner Bros. film Looney Tunes Back in Action. She is well-known in the doll world as a staff writer for Haute Doll Magazine and an administrator for denofangels.com, the largest English-language Asian ball-jointed doll website and forum in the world. Her passion for costumes has earned her multiple cosplaying awards, including Best in Show at several of the world's largest conventions. She now lives in California. She is currently directing her interest in Japanese classical and popular culture into the book Japan Ai: A Tall Girl's Adventures in Japan, to be published this winter by Go! Comi.
